Our Trips 2026 Icefall Traverse
  • 8 people maximum

  • Must be able to do at least 1500m uphill travel in a day. Options to add vert along the way. Must be comfortable with skiing in variable conditions.

  • Arrive to Golden the night before the trip. Staging is located 20 min West Of Golden on HWY 1, in Donald.

  • Day 1: Fly in to the Mons Hut (2300 m.a.s.l)
Meet at staging to sign waivers, go over gear and pack 3 lunches. We will then fly to the hut (conditions permitting), do an avalanche safety briefing and go for a short ski. Option to go check out a very impressive ice cave. (see photos)

Day 2: Mons to Lyell hut

Travel to the Lyell hut with options to ski along the way.

Day 3: Lyell to Alexandra hut
After spending 2 full days on the glaciers, we will descent to Alexandra cabin, where there will be a chef and a sauna awaiting us. Conditions permitting, skiing down the Wild West run (2200m descent), we will ski from the top of the peak, through broken glaciers, to the valley bottom.

Day 4: Alexandra to Icefall lodge
This might be the most demanding day, ascending 1500m from valley bottom, to Portal pass, then skiing down to the lodge, where we will spend the following 2 nights. (Chef, sauna, drying room)

Day 5: Ski around Icefall lodge
Full day to explore the best lines with a light pack.

Day 6: Icefall to Rostrum cabin

Pretty straight forward day to get to the Rostrum cabin via the Ice pass. Options to ski or add a peak along the way exist here as well.

Day 7: Ski to Heli pick up
